8 - DAY TEACHER TRAINING
The 8-DAY TEACHER TRAINING INTENSIVE is a 3-day extension of the 5-DAY TRAINING INTENSIVE that directly precedes it.
The workshop is open to participants interested in incorporating the Lugering Method into their classrooms and/or the Teacher Certification Program.
It includes a thorough investigation of the principles and practices of the Lugering Method:

Architecture of an Expressive Action
The physical raw materials that make human expression possible will be articulated and researched in an experiential process rooted in sensation and exploration.
Hierarchy of an Expressive Action
An improvisatory process in which an expressive action is built from the ground-up. The actor investigate how a weight-shift influences a breath-shift, influences a sound-shift and ultimately a speech-shift in integrated human expression.
Voice and Body Work
A series of exercises that progress sequentially from lying, to sitting, to standing, and finally, to upright locomotive movement. Each of the exercises incorporates a series of integrated moving, breathing and sounding actions that mirror the universal physical pattern that makes human expression possible.

Teaching Strategies
In the Integrated Voice, Movement and Acting Studio.
Hands-on-Training
The use of "touch" is explored as a pedagogical tool for facilitating integration.
Language Training
The specific use of words, diction and syntax are explored as a pedagogical tool for facilitating integration
Keyboard Training
The use of musical pitch as it relates to training the speaking voice is explored at the keyboard.
Vowel Tuning
Teaching methods for integrating the moveable parts of the vocal tract in the creating of vocal resonance are explored.
Student Teacher Demonstration
Participants in the course lead specific exercises for discussion and feedback.

If you are flying in to attend the training, you can coordinate your transportation by visiting the Rick Husband International Airport website for available rental car and taxi services. Additional public transportation options include Uber. Keep in mind when making flight arrangements the WTAMU campus is roughly 30 minutes from the Rick Husband International Airport. -

A 75 minute lunch break will be scheduled at the start of each full day. One 15 minute break will be taken during each morning and afternoon session.
